In New Jersey history is made by broad-based movements of working class people. North NJ DSA is the regional chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. We’re here to reignite a movement of to end capitalism, white supremacy, and environmental calamity and build towards Socialism for All. From the Paterson Silk Strike of 1913 to the Newark Rebellion of 1967, the BLM protests of 2020 to glimpses today of an ascendant labor movement, North NJ DSA is building on the legacy of working-class organizing from the bottom up. The North Jersey Democratic Socialists of America is a group of dedicated organizers working to cultivate a system where ordinary people have a voice in their lives, in their workplaces and society.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the existing housing crisis (where a third of NJ workers were rent burdened) has greatly deepened due to loss of income and largely inadequate government response.
Outward-facing, class struggle campaigns are crucial for building power, growing DSA, and becoming more reflective of North Jersey’s working-class communities.
Let’s recommit to DSA, take on projects and grow our capacity to build working class power in North Jersey.
