In New Jersey history is made by mass movements of working class people. From the Paterson Silk Strike of 1913 to the Newark Rebellion of 1967, the BLM protests of 2020 to glimpses today of an ascendant labor movement, North NJ DSA is building on the legacy of working-class organizing from the bottom up. North New Jersey DSA is the regional chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.
NJ Labor Solidarity
All across New Jersey workers are demanding more and taking action to win it. From nurses strikes to logistics workers and teachers, stay in the loop with on-the-spot labor solidarity alerts.
Building Health Justice in NJ
Organize in DSA to pass legislation that would establish price caps for life saving medicine, protect, expand reproductive care, build a coalition with patients, health care workers, their unions and the community, and introduce state-level single payer healthcare to the legislature
Right to Counsel JC
Housing is a human right and no one should have to fight for their homes without fair representation. It’s time to demand Jersey City pass a right to counsel for tenants. Join the class struggle campaign to organize and win.
