North NJ DSA

In New Jersey, history is made by mass movements of working class people. From the Paterson Silk Strike of 1913 to the Newark Rebellion of 1967, the BLM protests of 2020 to glimpses today of an ascendant labor movement, North NJ DSA is building on the legacy of working-class organizing from the bottom up. North New Jersey DSA is the regional chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. We believe that working people should run both the economy and society democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.

Take Action

Joel for JC

Joel is a dad, tenant, labor organizer, and democratic socialist running for Jersey City Council to fight for a city that fights for working people, not just the real estate developers and the one percent. Now more than ever, we need leadership ready to meet the cost of living crisis, unite and defend our neighbors across immigration status, and build a Jersey City for all with good schools, infrastructure and public transit.

Jake for JC

Jake is running for city council to build power for ordinary, working people in Ward D and across Jersey City. Corporate developers have too much power in our city, our community has too little say in what development looks like, and public schools and services desperately need adequate funding. We deserve more from our leaders—not weighing corporate interests against the rest of us. Working people in Jersey City deserve power.

Votes for All NJ

With the far-right increasing attacks on our noncitizen neighbors, now is the time to deepen our democracy in New Jersey. Let’s win local voting rights for youth and noncitizens across NJ!

NJ Labor Solidarity

All across New Jersey workers are demanding more and taking action to win it. From nurses strikes to logistics workers and teachers, stay in the loop with on-the-spot labor solidarity alerts.
